Jesus Christ is the greatest evangelist the world has ever seen! That's because he spread the Good News before the Holy Spirit descended at Pentecost.
What's this "Good News?" Read this post to find out.
So how could Jesus evangelize even before the Great Commission was given to the apostles? He could, because for one, he is God the Son. But more importantly, Jesus was, at all times, filled with the Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit). And it's the Holy Ghost who teaches us how to evangelize. And as a human being, he led us by example, praying and being filled with the Holy Spirit. Being God the Son, he could evangelize anyway; but by being filled with the Spirit, he set this beautiful example for us to follow. Mortal man (not Jesus), in his own capacity, cannot glorify God unless he is led by the Spirit of God to do so. ["no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit." (1 Corinthians 12:3)] This verse has taught me that the first step to become a successful evangelist is to pray and be Spirit-filled.
In the next post, we will look at a few examples demonstrated by the Evangelist # 1 - Jesus Christ.
Who loves you the most? It's God! They say that "another name for love is sacrifice." That's true, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." - John 3:16 (This blog may display affiliate ads. Have been reading your post for sometime now. You write very well. Tell me, why is there so much suffering if god is there? Once can understand suffering such as people losing thier jobs or their friends or money but how can god allow suffering such as women being raped and murdered or children as young a s a few days or a few months being left abandoned by thier parents. Should god not be more proactive and prevent such things from happening
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteThank you for commenting on my blog. I share your concern for the victims of atrocities. However, there are 2 sides to this issue. Please read both sides in order to get a full understanding of what I'm about to convey.
Firstly, when we say that the victims are innocent, we look at them from our viewpoint. What actually matters is whether they are innocent in the eyes of God, because God has created us and sent us here. The Bible says, that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) We don't know everyone's story, but God certainly does. In Deut. 30:19-20, God tells us through Moses, that "I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; 20 that you may love the LORD your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”
God has given us His law - His guidebook for living on Earth. As they say, "ignorance of the law is no excuse." Every human being needs to live in accordance with God's Word - the Bible. If we do not, we open the gates for the devil to attack us - through disease, financial problems, marital discord, robbery etc. Knowing our predisposition toward sin, God has worked out a way for us to receive His mercy: forgiveness through repentance and belief in His Son Jesus Christ. Read the following post to know what Jesus did specially for you: http://ketanrindani.blogspot.com/2009/04/good-news-friday.html
God is just. So sin cannot go unpunished. But He is also merciful. So while punishing sin, He spares the sinner, if the person obeys God according to 1 John 1: 8-9: "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
The second point here is:
The murderers, rapists, dacoits etc. are sinning and are answerable to God. Unless they repent before God, they will end up in hell - the lake of fire, "where 'Their worm does not die
And the fire is not quenched.'" (Mark 9:48) So all in all, justice is being done and will be done.
Take it from me, God is never unjust. He is perfect. You may wonder "what will happen to those who are illiterate or live in tribal areas? Who will tell them the message of salvation through Jesus Christ?" Christian missionaries reach out to the remotest corners of the world specifically so that these people do not die without a chance. If they repent and follow the Lord and His Word, they will be saved. Remember, every human being is given at least one chance to know the true living God and turn to Him before dying. Believe me; I have seen a close relative given at least 2 chances by God, which he ignored. He died in his sleep last year, without knowing Jesus. I sometimes think about this: salvation, God's fellowship and eternal blessings are just a prayer away. Yet most people do not let go of themselves and their opinions. Dear friend and precious soul! Do not join the group of such people. You are just too precious in God's sight!
