The word 'Amen' appears several times in the New Testament. In fact, the last word in the entire Bible is 'Amen' (Rev. 22:21). Sometimes though, while praying, people tend to take the word for granted (as I used to). But the word is highly potent.
One of the meanings of 'Amen' is "so be it." 'Amen' is also another name for Jesus. The significance of the word in prayer is this:
* We pray in Jesus' name and
* We believe that our prayers are heard and answered. (Mark 11:23 - KJV)
Doing this, we release our faith into our words; i.e. we charge the prayer with our faith in God's ability and willingness to hear and answer our prayer. "But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways." (James 1:6-8 - NKJV) Of course, the prayer would need to line up with God's will as expressed in His Word. Once we take care of that, we have the assurance that God has heard our prayer and answered it instantly. It may take some time to manifest depending on certain factors, but we can be sure that our effort and application of faith has borne fruit.
So the next time you say "In Jesus' name, Amen," put all your faith in Jesus into those words. Follow it up by waiting upon God without doubting. And the favourable result will be yours to see. Amen! :)
Who loves you the most? It's God! They say that "another name for love is sacrifice." That's true, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." - John 3:16 (This blog may display affiliate ads. What Does 'Amen' Mean?

I prayed for help from God, to give me the money I needed to help save my home, I prayed in earnest with tears streaming down my face, begging, and pleading. I went to lay back down in bed and not even 5 minutes later, a Wind Storm tore the roof off my barn, and it landed right in the yard of a woman that has been persecuting and harassing me for years in hopes to buy my land and build apartments on it. I received the money I needed from my insurance company. In addition; me and a couple of people from church went over and cleaned the roof out of her yard even though her insurance was suppose to do it, because it is considered an "ACT of GOD", :o) and I can not be held responsible. We cleaned it to the point of even taking a magnet and going through every inch to make sure there was not one thing left behind. So in showing kindness unto my enemy, it heaped coals of fire upon her head. She still tries to scare me off of my property, but she can see my peace and it eats her up that she can not get to me. Please pray for my protection, and for the restoration of all that has been taken from me. Pray that I receive understanding, wisdom, courage, good health, prosperity, and a help meat that I will be evenly yoked with, so we can help nation upon nation right here at our little farm. Most Sweetly and Sincerely, Vikie Howell Crystal Brook Farms Market & Meats 585-289-8689 Go With God and Jesus in Love...
ReplyDeleteVikie I have prayed for you. I believe that it's done for you. I have released my faith as a child of God. You can speed up the process by believing God for it without doubting, and confessing His Word every day. The verse for you that comes to my mind right now is Jeremiah 29:11:
ReplyDelete"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." (NKJV)
