Promised Land: Foreshadow of Things to Come
And the LORD said: “I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows. So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey" (Exodus 3:7, 8)
God had a great plan for the lives of His people. He promised that He would take them out of bondage and being slaves to the Pharaoh in Egypt. He would take them to the Promised Land. However, many of them grumbled.
Tongues at Babel vs. Tongues at Pentecost
"...the LORD confused the language of all the earth; and from there the LORD scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth." (Genesis 11:9)
God is the great restorer! The people at Babel thought that by trying to build a tower, they could get to heaven on their own. So the Lord confused their tongues and they began speaking in diverse languages, not understanding each other. Thousands of years later, Jesus gave the promise of restoration. What was it?
